Undergraduate Student Research and Awards
The University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing seeks to create and sustain a culture of undergraduate research through various student opportunities.
The Nursing Research Office is pleased to announce the schedule for the 2024 Undergraduate Student Summer Series: Launchpad to Research “LaunchPad Summer Series”. This series includes five one-hour seminars, held weekly from June 13 to July 11 inclusive.
The Faculty of Nursing opens this event to all undergraduate students across health-related disciplines who are either already engaged in or wishing to learn more about engaging in research at the undergraduate level. The event raises students' awareness of and interest in research through a rich breadth of researchers engaged in a broad range of research and methods.
Topics for discussion in the 2024 Undergraduate Student Summer Series are:
- Choosing a research topic
- Research ethics
- Research at the undergraduate level
- Incorporating equity, diversity and inclusivity into research
- Preparing for graduate studies/research at a graduate level
2024 LaunchPad Summer Series Schedule
The Faculty of Nursing is pleased to announce that thirty-two students from our BScN-Honors and BScN-After Degree Honors programs have been awarded bursaries to support their summer research. These students will be contributing to 20 different projects under the supervision of our tenure-track faculty members.
