Clinical Policies for Undergraduate Nursing Students
According to the legal agreements between the Faculty of Nursing and clinical agencies, undergraduate Faculty of Nursing students may perform only those activities for which they have received formal theory and laboratory instruction. In addition, the policies of the clinical agency must permit the student to perform the skill. In cases where there is a discrepancy between the Faculty of Nursing policy and the clinical agency policy, the more restrictive of the two policies will be followed. Students may perform with supervision all the restricted activities of the College of Registered Nursing of Alberta (CRNA) according to the Health Professions Act, as limited by Faculty of Nursing or the clinical agency.
