Get to Know new faculty member Aude Jehan

26 August 2024

Professor Aude Jehan recently joined us as an Assistant Professor in MLCS. We asked Professor Jehan to tell us about herself:

Aude's fields of expertise include culture and globalization, postcolonial studies, and feminism. She specializes in the study of Francophone literatures and cultures from sub-Saharan African countries and the Caribbean. Her approach is interdisciplinary, cross-chronological, and transnational. A French native speaker, Aude volunteered, traveled, and lived in several countries (e.g. Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, Switzerland, Turkey, and the USA). All these experiences have proven invaluable and shaped both her teaching and research interests. Her current research projects focus on the works of contemporary female authors from Martinique and Haiti, especially as they play out in the themes of environmental and social justice, gender studies, and decolonizing memories. Additionally, Aude very much enjoys the outdoors. Her hobbies are skiing, hiking, scuba diving and snorkeling.
