"Placeholder" Courses

Students must be registered in 9 credits (3 courses) per term in fall and winter term to maintain full-time status.

Thesis based students are automatically registered in Thes 906 in the spring and summer terms (which is considered full-time for spring and summer terms).

Course-based MSc students do not require registration in spring and summer terms, but if required (due to study permit conditions, funding) they can register for Ling 903 (3 credits), Ling 906 (6 credits), or Ling 909 (9 credits), depending upon their circumstance.

Completing Registration

On completing registration (or before registering if there are uncertainties), students should complete a graduate student registration form and submit it to the Graduate Programs Administrator for our files. Students are urged to complete their registration for an academic year (fall and winter terms) during the preceding spring (May-June) to assist the Department and instructors in course planning.
