Practicum
BARST/BKIN/BSCKIN Overview
As part of your Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin), Bachelor of Arts in Recreation, Sport & Tourism (BARST), or Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (BScKIN) degree, completing a practicum is a requirement. This non-paid work experience program places you with an approved agency. The goal of the ideal practicum placement is to offer you a work experience that complements your pattern or concentration, aligns with your previous work and volunteer history, and fulfills your personal learning objectives.
A practicum is a specialized course that provides students with supervised practical application of theories they have previously or concurrently studied.
The primary purpose of the professional practicum is education; it serves as both a learning and working experience.
