Funding Your Graduate Education
The University of Alberta has various awards, scholarships and prizes to assist you in funding your graduate studies. The Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) alone administers $29 million in scholarships every year.
Awards, scholarships and prizes are funded by a variety of sources, including the Government of Canada, the Government of Alberta and the generosity of our many donors.

CIHR will be offering two MS Teams Q&A sessions to trainees, postdoctoral researchers and institution staff regarding award programs that are offered.

All award competitions are adjudicated by the Graduate Scholarship Committee (GSC), which is a standing committee of the GPS Council.

2024 Canada Graduate Scholarship - Master’s (CGS-M) Information Session
Hosted by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral studies (GPS), this session aims to help master's students develop strong research proposals and strategies to obtain reference letters for the 2025 CGS-M program.

NSERC CGSM Program Q&A Sessions
NSERC is hosting the following question and answer sessions for the CGS M program. These sessions will be hosted as live Q&A MS Teams events. Participants should watch the instructional videos in advance and come to the Q&A session with specific questions in mind. Attend the sessions that are the most convenient for you and registration is not required.
