From the Dean: Welcome to the Winter 2021 term

Dear students:

As we begin another unusual winter term, I want to extend a warm welcome both to our new students and to those who are returning to their graduate programs at the University of Alberta.

We are so pleased to have you join us. If you are a new graduate student, please note that we have prepared a video to help orient you to the University and to learn more about the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR). 

The University has worked hard to ensure that, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, graduate students will continue to succeed in their programs this term. To stay informed about courses and learning, please consult your academic unit and the Campus Life page. 

Your academic unit and (where applicable) your academic supervisor will also be able to advise you on matters related to research. In addition, you can consult this page for institution-wide policies (including information on the current on-campus research ramp down). For a general overview of COVID-19 information relevant to graduate students, see this page.
