Dr. Anthony Caragianis
Dr. Anthony Caragianis moved in 2021 from Ottawa to Edmonton. He studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland from 2009 to 2015, graduating with Honours. He completed a Family Medicine Residency and then a Sports and Exercise Medicine Fellowship at The University of Ottawa, graduating in 2018. In addition to academic excellence, he has authored a widely used medical textbook for students around the world preparing for Canadian national assessment exams.
Dr. Caragianis has had additional training in ultrasound guided soft tissue and joint injections and employs the use of cutting edge technology including viscosupplementation and platelet rich plasma. He has a personal interest in hip and knee injuries.
Dr. Caragianis believes in the physical and mental benefits of staying active. He has provided medical coverage for a variety of sports including triathalon, hockey, running events and football. He has previously worked with the University of Ottawa GeeGee’s Men’s Varsity hockey and football teams. He was the team physician for the Junior A Carleton Place Canadien’s from 2018-2021. He will be working with the Edmonton Huskies football team.
In addition to his work at the Glen Sather Clinic, he is a full time emergency room physician.
In his spare time he enjoys tennis, alpine skiing, hiking and the outdoors.
