Overview

Expectations for student behaviour fall under two broad categories: academic and non-academic conduct. When a complaint about student conduct arises it is addressed as either academic misconduct or non-academic misconduct.

Academic misconduct includes plagiarism, cheating and any other form of misconduct that gives a student an unfair academic advantage or undermines research integrity.

The Student Academic Integrity Policy provides details on the expectations for students.

Non-academic misconduct can include interpersonal misconduct, such as violence, threats, harassment and other conduct that harms others; and University-related misconduct, such as disruption, obstruction, property damage, unauthorized use of University resources and other conduct related to University property, processes and resources.

All definitions are included in Schedules A and B of the Student Student Conduct Policy.
