Find a Research Opportunity
Most research opportunities, whether for credit or not-for-credit, will require you to connect with a potential research mentor/supervisor as a first step. This is often the most challenging step when you are starting out in research, for two reasons:
- Most professors do NOT formally advertise specific research opportunities for undergraduate students. Students must normally approach professors to inquire about research opportunities.
- Not all faculty/department webpages are organized in the same way, which can make it difficult to find the information you need about researchers in your area of interest.
While URI continues to advocate for more transparent advertising of research opportunities, we have curated the following directory of links from various faculty/department websites to aid students in locating information about research in your area of interest. This includes links to research topics or professor profiles to help you find potential supervisors, as well as specific information about undergraduate research opportunities in each department, where such information is available.
