The Chinese Benevolent Association in conjunction with the Edmonton Chinese Community Organizations are excited about our May 4-5, 2013 Conference, which will be held during Asian Heritage Month. This conference is entitled, Edmonton Chinatown Unveiled, and offers a plethora of interesting presentations, sessions, and activities over the two days. The conference sets the stage for the exchange of knowledge related to the city's Chinatown from about 1911 and looking into the future. Approximately 150 people are expected to be in attendance from the Chinese community and businesses, governments, schools and universities/colleges, museums/archives, libraries and other organizations with a strong interest in Chinatown's past, present and future. They will have the opportunity to learn from prominent speakers through presentations including plenary and panel sessions, and they will also be able to contribute significantly to the discussions.

The conference program contains a history bus tour of Chinatown to bring life to its history and evolution over 100 years through buildings and stories. A Chinatown Photo Exhibition is going to be on display at the conference site. The conference will also include a drawing contest for young people to present their concept of what Edmonton Chinatown may look like in the next 100 years. The first day of the conference will end with a screening of Lost Years.
