Dogs in the Garden

Dogs are welcome during our summer season, May-Oct., however, they are not permitted during our winter Luminaria event.

The garden is turning over a new leaf by opening its gates to our beloved four-legged family members every day during our summer months, early May through early October! Based on the incredible success of our previous Dog Days events, we're thrilled to announce that your furry friends are now welcome during all regular opening hours (excluding special events).

Get ready to make lasting memories with your furry friends amidst the beauty of nature. At the garden, we believe in inclusivity, and that means welcoming every member of your family, whether they have two legs or four!

Join us in creating pawsitively memorable moments at the Garden!

Admission Details

To ensure a tail-wagging good time, we're introducing a nominal admission fee of $5+GST per dog. This fee includes complimentary doggie bags upon entry, equipped with essentials to help you keep the garden pristine.

Water stations will be strategically placed at the Leaf Plaza, Kurimoto Japanese Garden, Aga Khan Garden, and North Washrooms, so your furry companions can stay hydrated and happy.

Service animals (including those in training), emotional support animals, certified therapy animals, will not be subject to the entry fee. We recognize the important roles these animals play in providing assistance and support to their handlers, and we warmly welcome them to enjoy the garden without any additional cost.

Ground Rules

We kindly ask that all dogs be on a leash, appropriately licensed, and exhibit well-behaved, controlled behavior. Responsible pet ownership is key, and handlers are expected to clean up after their pets. Pets must be properly restrained, not tied up or confined, and never left unattended. Dogs must stay in the outdoor spaces and are not able to visit the indoor spaces.

Trial Period and Future Possibilities

2024 has been a trial run to assess the dynamics and demand during peak times, and we're assessing guest feedback. We're excited about the potential to offer this option again in the future, based on your feedback and experiences!
