B.Sc. Programs (Honors, Specialization and Major)

Bachelor of Science degree programs in Biochemistry are offered as Honors, Specialization and Major degrees. These degree programs are offered through the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta. The programs are similar but differ in terms of their core course requirements. Part of the Honors and Specialization programs include a research component (BIOCH 398/498/499); in addition, students who are in the Biochemistry program and who wish to have the experience of carrying out research are encouraged to apply for summer student positions. They can develop their own research skills, experience the fun of basic research and gain an understanding of how biochemistry labs operate. Please click here to view departmental faculty and their research interests.
