Apply to the Summer School
Getting to the Summer School is relatively simple. Here is an overview of the main steps of the whole process:
- Let us know you are interested to join the program by emailing us at cilldi@ualberta.ca
- Around February / March, we will email you with the application link
- Follow the instructions in the email
- Once you have filled out your application, there is a 6 to 8 week processing time
- In the meantime, email us and let us know which classes you are interested in
- The course schedule is here: Courses - CILLDI
- When your application has been processed,
- you will receive an automated email from the University of Alberta to set up your CCID and password
- once you are set up, make sure you can connect to Bear Tracks
- If you are encountering problems, let us know
- If you are not funded by CILLDI, put us in contact with the people funding you so your tuition and fees are paid on time
- If you are attending in person, organize your travel details
- Come to class and have fun!
One note of caution: If you have attended the University of Alberta in the past as an Open Studies student (either in the CILLDI Summer School or not) and have completed 10 courses (30 credits), you will not be eligible to enroll for any more for-credit courses unless you are in a degree program or a certificate program (such as the Community Linguist Certificate). You can register on an audit-only basis, but you will not get university credit for these courses. Please contact us if you are in this situation.
