Western Hand & Upper Limb Facility (WULF) is a multi-disciplinary upper extremity specialized centre. Our team of orthopaedic surgeons, nurses, orthopaedic technicians, occupation and physical therapists work together to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Our surgeons are quite involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows.

Occupational Therapists
Our team of Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants offer rehabilitation services to patients with conditions and disorders of the hand, wrist, and elbow.
The conditions we treat include:
- Tendon injuries and transfers
- Fractures of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and upper arm
- Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
- Repetitive Strain Injuries
- Joint replacements of the hand and elbow
- Rheumatoid and osteoarthritis
- Contractures of the hand, wrist and elbow
- Nerve palsies
We accept referrals only from the surgeons of the Western Upper Limb Facility. Working closely with these surgeons, we develop treatment plans based on each patient’s individual care needs.
Treatments we provide include:
- Splint fabrication-for mobilization or immobilization
- Assessment of joint Range of Motion, sensation, edema, pain, and strength
- Edema Management
- Desensitization
- Scar Management
- Thermal modalities
- Progressive Range of Motion and strengthening programs
