Our faculty and staff are very excited as we prepare for the fall semester and anticipate meeting our incoming graduate Nursing students! Courses for the fall term commence on September 3, and we look forward to welcoming you at the Faculty of Nursing Graduate Orientation on Thursday, August 29.

*Please note that attendance at this session is mandatory, as you will be introduced to important information about the Faculty of Nursing, your program curriculum, and University regulations. This information will set you up for success in your studies

Doctoral students will attend from 09:30-14:20 MST

Master’s and Post MN students will attend from 11:30-16:30

You are strongly encouraged to attend on campus if possible at ECHA 2 140 (Edmonton Clinic Health Academy, Level 2, Room 140) located on the University of Alberta North Campus (11405 87 Avenue NW). For those that do attend on-campus, lunch will be provided along with a meet and greet with the Vice-Dean and Associate Dean from 12:30 - 13:00. Our meeting will also be available on Zoom for those who are unable to attend in person [zoom registration link].

You will be in good company during the orientation as you meet your classmates: we expect approximately 10 PhD students and 60 master’s students to join us this fall, coming from 11 countries around the world. Start building your professional network by connecting with each other as peer mentors and future colleagues!

The 2024-2025 Faculty of Nursing Orientation Handbook offers an introduction to many topics that will be addressed during orientation and the early weeks of your program and will be available soon on the Resources for Nursing Graduate Students eClass site and the FoN website (Forms & Guidelines --  Guidelines, Policies, & Information) for you to review.

Through your CCID/email sign-on, you already have access to the University learning management system which is called eClass. In upcoming weeks, you will be able to access an eClass site for each of your courses. The site will include your course outline (learning objectives, recommended textbook and resource materials).

By now, you should be registered in your courses for Fall 2024 and Winter 2025. If you are having any difficulties or questions about course registration, please contact the Nursing Graduate Office and we will be happy to assist you.
