KIAS DIRECTOR AND COORDINATOR STATEMENT ON RUSSIA'S WAR AGAINST UKRAINE

We are horrified by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  Our thoughts go out to all of our colleagues, friends and families who are affected by this attack. Many KIAS supported researchers and students have connections to Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with you at this difficult time.

KIAS was set up by the generosity of Peter and Doris Kule and is guided by their ideals which include the history and culture of Ukraine and its global legacy. Their vision was that KIAS Scholars would undertake research into the issues that such a legacy invokes including issues such as political oppression and global peace and conflict.

In the spirit of the Kule's vision we therefore welcome requests for immediate support that can help document, define or shed light on this crisis. Please contact us at kias@ualberta.ca if you have any ideas or suggestions.
