Daily Field Safety Log Books

Field Research Office (FRO) and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) have developed a daily field safety log book to ease the task of identifying, controlling and documenting hazards encountered by University of Alberta field researchers on a daily basis.

This book is your field-level hazard assessment for field research activities. There are instructions within the first pages that you should read before filling them out. One book for each research project is recommended but if you have groups that will be working in separate locations,  they should also have a book. The Daily Field Safety Log Books have been revised as of April 2, 2024 and you should be securing a new book when you attend your in-person Field Research Safety training.  The books are numbered and it is important that you keep track of the numbers of the log books you use for your projects.
