A message from the Wirth Institute concerning the grave situation in Ukraine

The Wirth Institute stands with the global community in condemning Russia’s unprovoked invasion and acts of aggression against the sovereign nation of Ukraine. In this dark hour for the European continent our hearts are heavy as we bear witness to this grave breach of international law and the greatest threat to European security and stability since the end of WWII.  Our thoughts are first and foremost with all of our Ukrainian colleagues here at the University of Alberta as well as with the large Ukrainian community in Alberta and the rest of Canada. To the Ukrainian citizens in the Ukraine and abroad – we stand in solidarity with you! You and you alone have the right to determine your own destiny. #StandWithUkraine
