Surgical Programs

Our aim is that graduating medical students understand the general principles that underlie surgical practice, and comprehend the role of surgery in the treatment of disease.

We intend to provide students with an education in surgery to prepare them for three main anticipated roles:

• The family physician who is considering referring a patient to a surgeon.
• The specialist who interacts with a surgical team for the purposes of diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• The resident entering a surgical training program.
