- practicum opportunities for students in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta, and other universities

Volunteer with us
Volunteering with The Steadward Centre provides a challenging, positive environment where you will be mentored by highly qualified staff and work alongside participants. Our hope is that by volunteering with us, you will become an advocate for inclusion and access to physical activity for all.
Complete your student placement
As an academic centre, The Steadward Centre provides a diverse range of learning opportunities and volunteer experiences across all our program areas, supporting students in the areas of kinesiology, physical education, recreation, science, nursing, rehabilitation medicine and coaching. Students develop skills, put learning to practice and earn certifications to support their future careers in the area of sport, recreation and fitness.
Collaborate on research
The Steadward Centre is committed to working in partnership with researchers and graduate students whose projects support its mission to "foster community and individual achievement and excellence in Adapted Physical Activity and para sport by applying innovative research, sharing our expertise and delivering quality programs, with and for, individuals experiencing disability." Interested researchers and students are recommended to review our core values to determine if our research interests may be aligned.
