Library

The St. Joseph's College Library is located on two levels in the basement of the east wing of the College. Our collection contains over 25,000 items and primarily supports the course we teach, as well as the research of our faculty. Therefore its focus is on areas such as Christian Theology, Philosophy, Ethics, Biblical Studies, Church History, Religious Education, and other topics related to the study of religion in general and Christianity and Catholicism in particular. All of our holdings are searchable using the University of Alberta Libraries website.

Along with books and reference materials, the St. Joseph’s College Library collection also contains a number of both scholarly and popular periodicals in print.

Our collection is fully integrated with the University of Alberta Library System, as well as NEOS.

All are welcome to use the library and its materials and services. For students, faculty, and staff of the UofA, your ONEcard is your library card. Library cards from other NEOS institutions are accepted here as well. 

The library provides a ONEcard printer, scanner, and photocopier for University staff and students. We also have 5 public computers, 35 seats of study space, and an after-hours book drop.

Unfortunately there is no elevator access to the library, which is located in the basement of the St. Joseph’s College building.

The library’s quiet atmosphere, low-glare furnishings (primarily wood), combination of natural and fluorescent light, and carpeted floor make it a generally low-stimulation environment.
