Virtual reality for PTSD treatment is 'just the beginning'
3MDR combines walking, talking, eye movement and virtual reality. The study will have 40 participants from the Canadian Armed Forces. They will receive the therapy once a week for six weeks.

This presentation focuses on 3MDR, a new PTSD treatment technology that is planned for implementation at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, Occupational Stress Injury (OSI) clinics in Edmonton and Calgary, and the University of Alberta. Work is underway at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Alberta to develop an Interventional Psychiatry program;
Dr. Vermetten and Leiden University are collaborators on research projects planned for the Interventional Psychiatry Program, utilizing substance assisted psychotherapy and 3MDR.
