Clinic for Ambulatory Rehabilitation Research and Education (CARRE)

CARRE is a research translational facility of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine that fosters research, particularly in the area of physical rehabilitation in spinal cord injury, and serves as an interface where research can be conducted and applied to clinical practice.

The main objectives of CARRE are to:

1) Conduct translational research in the field of neurological rehabilitation, with an emphasis on developing and testing new therapies.

2) Offer intensive walking retraining to research participants living with a spinal cord injury and children who have had early brain injury, such as perinatal stroke. Promising findings from research are applied to patient populations to determine clinical outcomes and ideal protocols.

3) Provide a hands-on teaching site for rehabilitation students and continuing education for practising clinicians.
