Shanda Duggleby-Wenzel Tell us a bit about yourself, Shanda.

I’m originally from Saskatoon but moved to Edmonton when I was young and now consider myself an Edmontonian. I received both my bachelor's degree and my master’s degree from the University of Alberta and I'm currently working towards my PhD.

What led you to a career in rehabilitation sciences?

I knew for a long time that I wanted to work with children and that I wanted to work in health care. I attended my first linguistics class in my first year of university and loved it. When I found out there was a career that would let me combine these three interests, I was hooked!

What made you decide to become an instructor with the faculty?

I've supported many student placements over the years. Joining the faculty as an instructor is a way for me to continue supporting speech-language pathology students.

If you have a particular interest or focus, please tell us about it.

As a clinical instructor, my focus is on child language assessment and intervention.

What are you looking forward to in this new role?

I'm excited to be a part of the team as the MSc-SLP program expands to the Augustana Campus.

When you aren't teaching or in a clinic, where is your favourite place to be?

Cheering my kids on at one of their events.
