On Friday, June 1, thesis-based graduate students in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine gathered to share their research with peers and faculty members at the fourth annual Rehabilitation Research Day. This event, hosted by the Rehabilitation Research Centre, provides a valuable opportunity for these students to connect and learn from others in the Faculty.
This year saw increased participation and interest, with 75 attendees gathering in Corbett Hall to learn about select research projects drawn from the 82 graduate students in the Faculty.
A total of 13 eight-minute oral presentations followed by a short Q&A session bookended the event, and another 24 students presented their findings through back-to-back poster presentation sessions.
"The quality of the presentations this year was really excellent," said Doug Gross, Director of the Rehabilitation Research Centre. He believes this kind of event provides an important experience for budding researchers.
Also in attendance were a number of undergraduate research students, who were given a first-hand opportunity to network and experience the world of graduate research.
