Karen Wagner
MSc Occupational Therapy
"I am most proud of the research my friend and classmate Gabbi Hogan and I completed, “An Occupational Perspective of Psychedelics”. . . Our supervisor, Dr. Tim Barlott, was an amazing instructor and mentor and helped empower us to look into a topic we felt was important in occupational science."
During her time as an undergraduate student at Augustana campus, Karen found herself drawn to mental health therapy, as she completed her bachelors degree in physical education and experiential learning.
She discovered that occupational therapy encompassed a holistic approach that would be of great value to place in OT in our local environments. Karen credits the program for helping her gain a deep understanding of her personal values, a strong appreciation for balance and relationships, and a spiritual connection to the land.
She hopes to integrate these learnings into her journey going forward.
