"Please Pass Me The Joy!!!" - A talk by Dr. Olive Yonge
Wednesday, September 27 | 3:00 - 4:20 pm
Edmonton Clinic Health Academy (ECHA) 2-190 (map)
In this semi post-pandemic era everything is still a little shaky in the world. This insecurity coupled with other traumatic events like forest fires and war directly affects our emotions let alone the daily stressors of work. Seeking joy is a significant strategy to uplift and regulate emotions. The presentation will include the meaning, characteristics and research on joy. Attendees will leave with strategies to enhance their joy and the joy of others.
Dr. Olive Yonge is a registered psychologist and Eriksonian trained coach and until recently a registered nurse. She recently retired from full-time employment at the University of Alberta works part-time with the pre-tenured faculty members to get them ready for tenure. She is also a part-time visiting scholar in the Department of Pediatrics and is working with them to enhance joy in their lives; it has been a challenge for healthcare staff to retain joy in their lives. She was awarded a Distinguished Professorship from the University of Alberta in 2016.
No registration is required to attend this event.
