Courses
The Department of Physics offers courses in:
- Astronomy (ASTRO)
- Geophysics (GEOPH)
- Mathematical Physics (MA PH) (which are shared with the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences), and
- Physics (PHYS)
We also offer courses designed specifically for Engineering students (PHYS 130, EN PH 131, and PHYS 230).
Most of the first year courses have 3 hours of lecture, and a 3 hour lab, each week. For more information on the labs (schedules, rooms, etc.), you may visit the Undergraduate Laboratories (UGL) web site.
The lists of courses required for each of our Honors and Specialization programs are given in the University of Alberta Calendar.
All other Physics courses and their descriptions are available through the University of Alberta Calendar.
For advice on courses appropriate for your general Physics program, please email advisor.science@ualberta.ca. For course advice on Specialization and Honours programs please contact the undergraduate advisor at physugrd@ualberta.ca.
