The Department of Physics at University of Alberta is a large comprehensive department with research programs covering all major areas of physics including computational, experimental and theoretical research in astrophysics, biophysics, condensed matter physics, geophysics, particle physics, space and plasma physics. We have 49 professors and about 50 research associates who do research with our approximately 160 graduate students. University of Alberta has a strong commitment to excellence, and it offers among the best teaching and research facilities in Canada.
