Luke Kersten

A warm welcome to alumnus Luke Kersten (Ph.D. University of Edinburgh, M.A. University of Alberta), who rejoins us in September to take up a Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship!

Luke specializes in the philosophy of mind and cognitive science. His current project focuses on ways of modelling scientific practices to better understand and compare the roles of conceptual tools such as models and theories. His goal is to develop evaluative criteria for measuring the adequacy of these tools for scientific purposes, focusing on cognitive science. Luke will be working under the direction of Prof. Ingo Brigandt.
