NMHI Membership
Membership in the NMHI is open to all those who want to further neuroscience and mental health research, including academics, clinicians, trainees, healthcare workers, and other stakeholders.University of Alberta members come from departments and faculties across campus including Medicine and Dentistry, Science, Rehabilitation Medicine, Kinesiology Sport and Recreation, Nursing, Business, and Arts. They are advancing research to improve the lives of individuals with neurological and mental health diseases and disorders.
Benefits to joining the NMHI
- Exclusive funding – As an NMHI member, you are eligible to apply for exclusive funding opportunities.
- Networking – Share knowledge and form research collaborations with fellow NMHI members. The NMHI works to foster multidisclipinary collaborations nationally and internationally as well.
- Training – Students have the opportunity to draw on the expertise of researchers and clinicians from a variety of faculties and department.
- Professional development – NMHI Research Day, NMHI Seminar Series
- Promotion of research – NMHI members should contact nmhicoms@ualberta.ca to suggest news story ideas and to request to have their research and accomplishments highlighted (e.g., news articles, social media).
Member expectations
- List NMHI affiliation in manuscripts submitted for publication and on curricula vitae and biosketches. Consider using the NMHI logo in presentations.
- Acknowledge NMHI financial support when presenting or publishing NMHI funded research
- Participate in NMHI events
- Serve on grant and award review panels and other committees when invited
