IRTG Award
IRTG Competition for Trainees
The NSERC CREATE IRTG in Membrane Biology is an exceptional opportunity for exceptional students. The goal of the training program is to develop a group of trainees with specialized skills in membrane biology, combined with the ability to move into the workplace with talent in communication and research at the international level.
The IRTG is funded by the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) with a Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) grant. The CREATE Program improves the mentoring of, and training environment for, the Canadian researchers of tomorrow by improving areas such as communication, collaboration and professional skills; and providing experience relevant to both academic and non-academic research environments. Our German partners IRTG1830 are funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
The fourth and the last round of the International Research Training Group (IRTG) in Membrane Biology competition took place in June-August 2016. Two successful applicants at the graduate student level were awarded with two years of stipend support, commencing September 1, 2016. Both awards include a stipend plus money for travel/accommodation during a three month stay with our German partners. The successful candidates were:
M'Lynn Fisher Supervisor: Dr. Howard Young |
