Who can download or use the SIMARD MD?
The SIMARD MD is available only to the medical and licensing communities.
What does it cost to use the SIMARD MD?
The SIMARD MD can be used at no charge, subject to the conditions that follow. Simply request access. The following are available for download: 1) training videos, 2) SIMARD MD administration and scoring instructions, and 3) the test itself. However, we do ask you to use the Instructions and SIMARD MD test form provided without modification of any kind. This includes leaving the original references and logos printed on the sheet. All enquiries regarding use of the SIMARD MD should be directed to mard@ualberta.ca.
Can I reprint the SIMARD MD?
If you are using the SIMARD MD for medical or licensing purposes, you can download and print out as many copies of the paper test as required. However, if you intend to re-print the SIMARD MD for research, published work, or website, we ask you to seek permission from the Medically At-Risk Driver Centre at the University of Alberta. The training videos for the SIMARD MD are copyrighted and can be used only with written permission from the Medically At-Risk Driver Centre.
I am using the SIMARD MD for research purposes. Do I have to acknowledge the authors of the SIMARD MD?
Yes, the authors of the SIMARD MD publication [1] should be acknowledged in any publication arising from your research with the SIMARD MD.
I am interested in translating the SIMARD MD into another language. Can I do so? Who do I have to contact?
We are always open to research groups wanting to do translation and validation work on the SIMARD MD. If you are interested in translating the SIMARD MD, simply send an email to mard@ualberta.ca.
