About Us
The Collaborative Mathematical Biology Group, formerly known as the Centre for Mathematical Biology, opened in 2001 and operated informally until December 2006 when it was approved by the University of Alberta's Academic Planning Committee.
Our Focus is on research across the disciplines of mathematics and biology.
Our Goal is to provide a campus-wide resource for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research and training in mathematical biology. The CMB seeks to bridge the gap between life scientists and mathematicians in solving problems of significance to Canadians.
Our Approach is to promote research in mathematical biology at the University of Alberta through interdisciplinary research collaboration, a visitor program, a seminar series, a summer school, and postdoctoral and graduate education.
