About the Book:
Sheila Watson published the iconic novel The Double Hook in 1959, which influenced the writing styles of many Canadian writers, including Robert Kroetsch, Michael Ondaatje, George Bowering, Daphne Marlatt, Caterina Edwards, and others. This collection of essays examines The Double Hook, Deep Hollow Creek, and some of her short stories. Essays look at Watson's editorial work, mentoring work and teaching style. Pivato edited the book because he knew Watson as a mentor and admired her selfless support for other writers.
