A Book Launch Afternoon
The CLC is hosting two double book launches: join us on Thursday, November 28, for an afternoon of readings from and discussions of recently published literary work.

The events are open to the public and will take place in Henderson Hall (Rutherford Library South 1-17). Come for one or both!

Public Lecture with Dr. Ian MacLaren
To celebrate the publication of his four-volume Paul Kane's Travels in Indigenous North America: Writing and Art, Life and Times, Dr. Ian MacLaren will give a public lecture that examines Paul Kane's problematic representations of Indigenous peoples.
This event will take place on Thursday, November 7, from 5-6 PM, at the Art Gallery of Alberta.

Reading + Conversation and Water Walk with Marjorie Beaucage
On Friday, October 18, join the CLC and LitFest for a noon-hour Reading and Conversation, and a 3 PM Water Walk, with Two-Spirit Métis artist and waterwalker Marjorie Beaucage.
The reading, hosted by spoken word poet Medgine, will take place from 12-1 PM in Henderson Hall (Rutherford Library South 1-17, U of A).
The walk from campus to kisiskâciwanisîpiy (the North Saskatchewan River) will begin at 3 PM. Meet at Henderson Hall.

2024 Kreisel Lecture with Kate Beaton
Award-winning cartoonist and author Kate Beaton gave the 18th annual Kreisel Lecture on March 7, 2024.
Kate's lecture will be published by University of Alberta Press in February 2025.
