UAlberta Law extends a warm welcome home to the students who participated in the Harold G. Fox Canadian Intellectual Property Moot in Toronto last weekend. Congratulations to Ian Andrews and Jenna Handford, who acted as the appellants, and Dorian Fenton and Afshaan Jiwaji Kapasi, who acted as the respondents.
Special mention goes to Handford, who ranked second out of all competitors for the Donald F. Sim Award for the best oral advocate. In addition, Handford won the DLA Piper Award for the best mooter in a non-graduating year, which provides Handford and a classmate of her choice with guaranteed entry into the prestigious Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot in March 2018.
UAlberta Law would like to thank the team's dedicated coach, Michael Sharp of Parlee McLaws LLP, who has coached the team for two years in a row, following the Faculty's long hiatus from competing in the Fox moot.
The team offered kind words for Sharp:
