The University of Alberta's China Institute held its Fifth Annual National Forum on Public Policy Dimensions on Chinese Investment in Canada on May 8 in Toronto, Ontario. Professor Linda C. Reif, Faculty of Law, discussed the Investment Canada Act and the new Canada-China Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPPA) on a Forum panel that addressed the theme "Chinese FDI: A Global Outlook - The Legal and Policy Environment". The Forum was attended by business persons, lawyers, Chinese and Canadian federal and provincial/territorial government representatives and academics.
