Professor John Chandler, Co-Director of the Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law at the University of Western Australia, to speak at the Faculty of Law's 2012-13 Legal Forum Centenary Speakers Series

In the first half of 2013 the Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law at the University of Western Australia conducted a survey with KPMG of corporate governance of small to mid-sized resources companies with their head offices in Western Australia. In this talk Professor John Chandler will discuss the survey results and what they have to say about the way that directors of resources companies deal with board structure, board reporting, ethics, sustainability, social licence to operate, bribery, and corruption.

Professor John Chandler has over 30 years' experience in the resources industry as a partner in large commercial law firms, director of petroleum companies and university teacher. As a practising lawyer he has been involved in some of the largest resource developments in Australia. Professor Chandler is the Co-Director of the Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law at the University of Western Australia.
