Professors Eran Kaplinsky, Russell Brown, and David Percy, were recently awarded $37,000 in funding over a one year period, by Alberta Land Institute (ALI), for a research project entitled, "Assessing Property Rights and Land Use in Alberta". The one-year research project will focus on property rights and land use in Alberta.

Professors Kaplinsky, Percy, and Brown will analyze the constitutional, legal, and regulatory framework within which property rights in the province are demarcated; will articulate the current scope of real property rights in the province; and highlight the critical issues arising from recent land use initiatives. Importantly, the researchers will produce a plain language guide to property rights in the province to serve as a resource for policymakers, stakeholders, and the general public.
