Professor Linda Reif was one of the keynote speakers at the 26th Australasian and Pacific Ombudsman Region (APOR) Conference that was held in Taipei, Taiwan from March 23 to 26, 2011, hosted by the Taiwanese Control Yuan. Professor Reif presented on the topic of "The Ombudsman and the Protection of Children's Rights.
The theme of the conference was "The Ombudsman and Human Rights: Protecting Human Rights and Promoting Good Governance" and the conference mainly focused on two subjects: International Movement of Ombudsman and Human Rights and Development of Ombudsman and Human Rights in APOR.
The conference was attended by ombudsman and their staff from the Australasian, Pacific, European and North American regions, diplomatic representatives and other interested persons.
