Join us for the launch of The Creation of iGiselle: Classical Ballet Meets Contemporary Video Games.
At Audrey's Bookstore on Saturday, March 9 at 2pm:
Editor Nora Foster Stovel (University of Alberta - Faculty of Arts) will be joined by contributors Vadim Bulitko and Sergio Poo Hernandez from Computer Science, Christina Gier from the Department of Music, Pirkko Markula from the Department of Physical Education, and Wayne DeFehr, Mark Morris, and Laura Sydora from the Department of English and Film Studies.
Free event and everyone welcome! Light refreshments will be provided.
At the Jubilee Auditorium on Friday, March 22, at 3:30-5:30pm:
Editor Nora Foster Stovel and the authors will be joined by Alberta Ballet Artistic Director Jean Grand-Maitre, ballerina Hayna Guttierez, and principal dancer Kelley McKinlay, who will talk about Alberta Ballet's March 2015 production of Giselle.
Alberta Ballet also invites guests to view company class on stage at the Jubilee Auditorium at 11:15am, followed by a question and answer period with Jean Grand-Maitre.
Guests are also invited to watch the student matinee of Midsummer Night's Dream at 12:30-1:45pm. This matinee will be without costumes and set.
People who wish to see the full production of Midsummer Night's Dream at 7:30pm that evening can purchase tickets on-line on the Alberta Ballet web site or at the Jubilee Auditorium Box Office, which opens at 6:15pm, in time for the pre-talk at 6:30pm, when Artistic Director Jean Grand-Maitre will interview choreographer Bruce Wells.
