Vision

Interdisciplinary collaboration and the richness of varied research interests and backgrounds are at the heart of creating innovative, sustainable, and impactful engineering solutions for our society.

Values

  1. Championing equity and diversity by embracing different identities and lived experiences, and fostering a culture that values, respects, and supports every individual.
  2. Prioritizing inclusivity by actively working to recruit and retain a diverse faculty, staff, and student body, and providing the necessary resources and support for their success.
  3. Continuously improving our practices and policies by identifying and addressing barriers faced by equity-deserving groups and ensuring alignment with our EDI values.

Priorities

  1. Enhance demographic representation and inclusivity among our students, staff, and faculty through targeted recruitment, retention, and support initiatives.
  2. Review and revise our practices and policies to eliminate barriers for equity-deserving groups and promote an inclusive culture.
  3. Provide opportunities for professional development, training, and resources in EDI for all department members, fostering collaboration and communication across campus.
