Programs in Educational Policy Studies are offered at the master's and doctoral levels in four specializations. Please note that admissions and program requirements for each specialization my differ from the others.

Specializations

Adult, Community, and Higher Education (ACHE)

This specialization provides advanced study for individuals who work with adults in the capacity of teaching, administration, or community leadership within a variety of institutional, community, and workplace settings throughout the world.

Studies in Educational Leadership (SEL)

This specialization provides advanced study for Canadian and International candidates in preparation for a broad range of administrative, supervisory, and leadership positions in public and non-government sectors, and in K-12 and post-secondary education institutions in Canada and world-wide. Prior to 01 July, 2022, Studies in Educational Leadership was known as Education Administration and Leadership (EDAL).

Indigenous People's Education (IPE)

Grounded in the traditions of the Aboriginal peoples of Alberta, the international and interdisciplinary focus of this specialization attracts students from a variety of disciplines and locations. This specialization combines the conventional parameters and standards of university education with the collective efforts of Indigenous students, scholars, and Elders.

Social Justice and International Studies in Education (SJI)

Social Justice and International Studies in Education focuses on the theoretical, philosophical, and ideological underpinnings of education as well as the social and cultural contexts in which education takes place.
