Korean Speech Contest Winners
We are pleased to announce that twenty-six students from the Korean language program participated in the 2023 Korean Speech Contest on September 27, 2023. The Korean Speech Contest is organized by the Department of East Asian Studies and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Vancouver and includes four distinct categories: novice, beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
We are pleased to formally announce the winners of the contest. Tezza Paul, Jasmeet Kaur Uppal, Neethu Dax, and Vivian Bada were first place winners in their categories.
Alison, Jerica Drueco, Hana Robertson, Michael Hughes and Elvis Vierneza were second place winners in their categories.
Shauna Tay, Kanako Uchihara, Claudia Wilkinson and Mary Catherine Anne Encarnacion were third place winners in their categories.
We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all students who participated in the contest including the preliminary round of the contest. It was genuinely uplifting to witness the commitment, enthusiasm, and effort everyone poured into the competition. A big thank you to the representatives from the Edmonton Korean community who attended our event. Your presence and encouragement truly enhanced our students' educational experience.
