Department has Successful Day at Open House

The Department of East Asian Studies participated in the University of Alberta's Open House on September 20th, and as usual, the department's booth in the Butterdome was busy all day. Our undergraduate volunteers did an excellent job explaining the department's programmes to many potential students and their parents, who were offered Asian snacks as well as a challenging quiz. Graduate students and sessional instructors from the department also gave demonstrations of Chinese and Japanese language teaching as part of "Fun Not Fear: Learning Foreign Languages", organised by the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies. The department is very grateful to all our volunteers, who are excellent ambassadors for our programmes.
