Event Organizer Training for Students

Event Organizer Training (EOT) is an online, asynchronous training offered by the Student Affairs Team.

EOT is an introduction to event policies and procedures, risk assessment and management processes, event planning basics, and guidelines for hosting high-risk events such as events with alcohol, physical activity, travel, and minors.

Who needs to take EOT?

  • Any member of your student group can take EOT. The course is open to anyone who wishes to learn more about planning events and the policies and procedures related to campus and/or student group events. Typically, individuals who complete this training are in a VP Events/Social role, on an events planning committee, or are willing to act as the Primary Event Organizer (PEO) or Secondary Event Organizer (SEO) for your event.
  • Your student group must have a minimum of two members with valid EOT.

How long is EOT valid?

  • EOT is valid for two calendar years from the date the course was completed.
  • For example, if you completed the course on March 18, 2021, it is valid until March 18, 2023. EOT is valid for any group you are a member of as it is tied to the individual student, not the specific group.
