Graduate Support
At Writing Services, we offer personalized one-on-one support to graduate students with various writing tasks, including course papers, thesis chapters, grant applications, and specialized career documents. Our experienced writing advisors can assist with language refinement, organization, and development of effective writing habits.
Booking an Appointment
You can book your own appointment on WCONLINE. Our writing advisors offer both in-person and remote appointments. In-person appointments will take place in our office. You will join a remote appointment through WCONLINE. When you book your appointment, you will be able to attach documents. Please note that our advisors can review up to eight double-spaced pages before an appointment.
We can work with you on:
- Term papers
- Thesis and dissertation chapters
- Thesis proposals
- Conference papers
- Articles for publication
- Grant proposals
- Statements of intent
- Leadership statements
We do not review PDF or LaTeX documents, and we cannot view work on mobile phones or tablets. Our advisors also do not focus exclusively on grammar or spelling, but they may identify patterns.
Cancelling Appointments
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time via WCOnline. Late cancellation requests will result in the appointment being marked as a "no show."
Workshops, Cafés + Retreats
In addition to personalized consultations, we offer workshops to help you learn and practice new writing skills that can be applied directly to your academic work. We also host virtual writing cafés, designed to help graduate students establish a regular writing routine in a supportive communal setting. Writing Services also offers a range of writing retreats to support graduate writers.
