About the site:
The General Systems Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital is a 30-bed adult intensive care unit located in an inner city teaching hospital. The clinical research group has a rich history of nearly 30 years, actively participating in academic investigator-initiated, CIHR, and industry-funded clinical trials and cohort studies.
Our research focuses on specialized areas such as sepsis, renal replacement therapy, substance use disorder, respiratory failure, pneumonia and ARDS as it relates to mechanical ventilation, enteral and parenteral nutrition, end of life care and family satisfaction with care, as well as providing support to other researchers within the Royal Alexandra Hospital, including trauma, spine, and thoracic surgery.
